As of the opening of camp registration on March 1, 2022, the Board of Directors of Camp Independence of San Antonio have determined that all participants including staff, CITs, campers with diabetes, and siblings must be vaccinated with at least one injection against COVID-19 by July 1, 2022.
The Center for Disease Control recommends everyone ages 5 years and older get a COVID-19 vaccine to help protect against COVID-19. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends COVID-19 vaccination for all children and adolescents 5 years of age and older who do not have contraindications using a vaccine authorized for use for their age, especially for children with underlying health conditions such as diabetes. This requirement may change between now and July.
Camp enrollment has been reduced this year. If you wish your child to be included in camp, I recommend that you register and hold your spot by paying at least the non-refundable registration fee ($25 for campers or $30 for CITs). Remaining tuition must be paid by July 7, 2022. If you have already paid the tuition and are unable to attend camp, the tuition portion will be refunded.
As of June 1, 2022, the vaccination requirement remains the same.
Vaccination against COVID-19 is safe and effective in reducing serious illness in children over 5 years of age and adults.
I hope to see you at camp 2022!
